If I was the president of the country, I would pull out of the group of Francophone countries, immediately. I have never heard of a more stupid organization to be a part of for a country like Lebanon. We speak Arabic! We are not Francophone!
Apparently, TV5 executives were in Lebanon recently explaining how much TV5 loves Lebanon. Blah blah blah. If you love Lebanon you will respect who we are and not seek to change us. Hillo 3an sama rabna. Ana ma bi7keh frensawi wala badi i7kiha. Why should my taxes be used to promote French in the country? Why should my laws promote this language which only a few people can understand and which those few pretend that they speak it well?
What is wrong with our language that they want to dump their stupid and arrogant language on us? We love our Arabic. It is the language in which we all express ourselves naturally, so why promote French as if it somehow it is our second language?
The reality is that French is a language for Lebanese that want to feel themselves better than the typical Lebanese person. The average person does not speak this stupid language. Those who do speak it think of themselves as an elite.
The other day I went to listen to a musical performance. For some reason, the program of the evening was written in, you guessed it, French! As if we were in France and not in Lebanon. What a joke. What fakeness. I ask again, what is so wrong with our language that we cannot have the program written in Arabic?
From now on, when I see something like this I will talk to the person in charge and inform them proudly that I do not speak French and that I do not understand what the program says. Maybe then someone will start doing something about this pathetic situation.
